அதிகாலை விடியலாய் விரைந்து எழுந்தேன்,
உன்னதம் உணர்ந்தேன்;
நாள் முழுதும் நீடித்த உன் நினைவால்
உணவை உனக்கென உன்னித்து உண்டேன்;
அந்தி மாலை நயமாய் வர உன்னை மறுக்காமல் நாடினேன்;
நள்ளிரவின் முழுமதி அழகாய் தன்மை தர கதியின்றி சற்றே உறங்கினேன்:

மறையாத மாயமாய் முப்பொழுதும் என்னை இயக்கும்
என் மனதின் ஓர் காதல் ஆனாயே-

I woke up early as the frisky dawn,
I fancied the charisma;
The whole day long thoughts of you
Brought changes in my diet (Just for the sake of you) ;
Never did I cease seeking you when the mystic dusk loomed;
